Connecting Salesforce to Opsight

One person approves it once (about 2 minutes). After that, every rep connects with a single click. Reps get NOVA's coaching in the Opsight app, and we keep Salesforce in sync automatically — stage, notes, next step, and close date.

Do it yourself

Follow the admin steps below — most admins finish in about 2 minutes.

Who does what

  • Your Salesforce admin does a one-time approval of Opsight (Part 1) — nothing to install inside Salesforce.
  • Each rep then connects in a click and completes a short profile (Part 2).
  • Not the admin? Forward this page to whoever manages your Salesforce — it has everything they need.

For your Salesforce admin

One-time setup · about 2 minutes · nothing installed inside Salesforce

Step 1 — Approve Opsight in Salesforce

Since September 2025, Salesforce asks an admin to approve any new connected app before reps can use it. That's a good thing — it means your org decides exactly who connects and what they can see.

  1. In Opsight, go to Settings → Integrations → Connect Salesforce and approve access (this registers the Opsight connected app in your org).
  2. In Salesforce Setup → Connected Apps, open Opsight and set Permitted Users → “Admin approved users are pre-authorized.”
  3. Assign the Opsight permission set (or profile) to the reps who'll use it. Done — they can now connect with one click.
That's the whole admin setup. There's nothing to install inside Salesforce — no managed package, no components to drag onto a page. Opsight connects over the API and keeps your deals in sync.
What Opsight can see: only your Opportunities — name, amount, stage, close date, account, next step, and the deal notes reps write. Never emails, calls, documents, or forecasts. You control the exact access through the permission set you assign, and you can revoke it anytime. Full detail on our Security & Trust page.

For reps

Daily use · the part that actually helps you sell

Step 1 — Connect Salesforce

Once your admin has approved Opsight, go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect Salesforce. Approve the prompt — your open opportunities import in a couple of minutes.

Step 2 — Complete your Sales DNA (~12 min)

This is the most important step. Without it, NOVA gives generic advice. With it, every piece of coaching is tailored to your selling style, motivation, and the gaps you're working on.

Step 3 — Confirm your stage mapping

We auto-match your Salesforce stages to Opsight's. Review the suggestions, adjust anything that's off, and save. NOVA imports your deals once you confirm — so the coaching is right from day one.

Step 4 — Sell, get coached, and your CRM updates itself

After a call, drop a couple of lines into NOVA. You get instant coaching on what to do next. Those notes sync back to the deal in Salesforce automatically — so your manager stays in the loop and you never touch a CRM form. Clean pipeline data is just a side effect of getting better at selling.

Common questions

A rep got blocked trying to connect. Why?

Salesforce blocks new connected apps until an admin approves them. Have your admin complete Part 1, Step 1 — then the rep can connect.

My deals didn’t import.

Make sure stage mapping was saved (Part 2, Step 3). Imports run in the background and usually finish in 2–5 minutes. Still nothing after 10? Email support@opsighthq.com.

What exactly does Opsight read and write?

We read your Opportunity name, amount, stage, close date, account, next step, and notes. We write the coaching notes reps enter back to the deal description so managers stay in the loop. We never touch emails, calls, documents, or forecast metrics. See /trust.

Where does the coaching happen?

In the Opsight app — that's where reps get NOVA's coaching. Salesforce stays your system of record; we keep it in sync automatically (stage, notes, next step, close date). Nothing extra runs inside Salesforce, so there's no performance impact.

How do we disconnect?

A rep can disconnect anytime from Settings → Integrations, or an admin can revoke Opsight from Salesforce Setup. Access stops immediately. Ask us to delete imported data anytime.
